A Message from the Instructor
The pursuit of martial arts is a life-long endeavor - that is its beauty. Unlike some sports or activities where you reach your peak and then decline, a martial artist will always continue to grow. When you can no longer kick as high as you once did, you will be wise enough to realize that kicking that high is not necessary. As your skill and knowledge increase, the way you view the world will change. People who once made you feel uncomfortable will no longer affect you. Situations that once intimidated you will no longer threaten you. Your confidence in yourself will empower you to stand up for what you believe in.
In these more civilized times, verbal attacks from aggressive people are far more common than physical ones, but the same martial arts principles apply: remain calm and relaxed, never counter force on force, blend with an attack and then control it. It works the same!
Through marital arts training, you will find that your physical performance in other activities or sports will increase as your balance and coordination improve. Your joints will move more freely and your muscles will have explosive strength. You will find that aches and pains that once plagued you will lessen or disappear as your posture and flexibility improve.
Kuk Sool Won is not a martial sport. It is a disciplined martial art - the real deal! It is well-structured and consistent in every school. You can go to any KSW school and pick up your training exactly where you left off! I know of NO other art that can claim this. KSW was well-rounded by design long before it was fashionable in the martial arts world to do so.
I welcome new students to join us and see if KSW is right for you!
